Alena Caswell, DVM
Education

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, University of California, Davis.
Bachelor of Science, University of California, Davis.

About Me

Dr. Caswell grew up on a small farm in rural Sonoma County.  By the time she started kindergarten, she knew she wanted to be a veterinarian to help take care of animals.

Dr. Caswell began her professional career working in the dairy and livestock industry in the Central Valley.  Her early passion for 4H & FFA project animals continues, and she looks forward to becoming more involved locally with these programs and people.

Before joining her new family - Waterford Pet Hospital - she worked for a local Emergency Hospital at night while taking “day shifts” at many small animal hospitals searching for the best place to call “home”.

In her free time, Dr. Caswell enjoys baking cookies and desserts, visiting with her family, and finding new animals to add to her crew. She currently has a 15-year-old rescue chihuahua, a 3-legged dachshund, and a toothless cat.  She is excited to know the community better and to build long-lasting relationships with her patients and clients.

About Me

Dr. Frankie opened Waterford's first Pet Hospital in 2002. She loves the challenges of merging modern medicine with the day-to-day realities of families with pets.  The relationships and rewards of practicing small animal medicine for over 25 years never grow old for her. Having grown up in Sonora with all kinds of animals -from goats to guinea pigs & ponies to puppies - her life in Waterford is a natural fit where she keeps a menagerie of critters. Her family with Dr Bob also includes 2 human children.
